How to make Vista Explorer view file/folders in detail?

When I open an explorer window to browse the files on my drive, I want each folder to be viewd in detail mode, where I can set columns to show date accessed, modified...etc. I tried go to Tools > Folder Options > View > Apply to Folders, but it doesnt apply to all folders only some. How do I do this for all folders?
