How to make the ultimately quiet system?

Ok, So far the loudest part in my system is the HardDisk and its spinning platters, well it isn't actually loud but I can still hear it.
Regretfully I am running an ATX case with one side open because I have rearranged the PSU to be place on front bottom so I can fit the Zalman CNPS 3100 gold which has 2 80mm fans *quite noiseless*
I want to know, should I buld some larger wooden box under my desk and fit the case in there so only the front panel of the case is being seen, that way I wont hear a thing and there still would be plenty of air
what do you think, if you have some noiseless rigs and setups please post pics also

The Noisecontrol Silverado is supposed to offer good cooling performance at almost silent operation. Pair that with the Seagat Baracuda ATA IV, and you have yourself a pretty quiet system.

They sell hard drive noise-dampening shells. You put the HD in, and the special material insulates the noise. Of course the HD will get a lot hotter. That's why many such systems have a little fan of their own 🙂

Can't recommend one in particular... Just try on Google

seagate barracuda IV...silent 😀

that, and the best heatsink you can get (for socket A, the alpha 8045), and a panaflo L1A, available from mpja.com for 2.50 or something like that.

thats it!
