ok, i just bought a new LCD. the LCD doesnt have the swivel/pivot feature that allows switching between lanscape and potrait modes. then, it happens that i need the portrait mode for some graphic editing/viewing. so i had to force it by buying an aftermarket wallmount kit that does the job. however at this point, i got stuck cuz i dont know how to switch the viewing modes at software level. does any one know the setting in windows that allows switching between the modes? thanks a lot

display properties/ settings/ advanced/ rotation tab

for me its the second from the right on the top row. Make sure you have the newest drivers installed. not that it should really matter.

Ja, ATI rotate tab was AWOL by default for awhile but has been present and accounted for in the last few control panel releases, at least.

yah, i installed the neewest driver. it does have the rotation tab. however it does work for my case. whenever i rotate 90 or 270 degree, it said the resolution is not compatible for such rotation (LCD 17" @ 1280x1024). so i did some googling and found the program PivotPro (which is bundled wiht some LCD like Planar or Phillips). that one works just perfect, no more resolution-incompability bs (i dont have to change the resolution, the setting is just the same when i tried the ATI Rotation, but it works). PivotPro schooled ATI
