how to make store bough pasta sauce taste better?

z0mb13

Lifer
I bought this classico pasta sauce..

thinking of putting sausage in it..

what else to make it taste better? garlic? pepper?

spice it up 🙂 garlic and mushroom are also good, i also add ground beef for more taste. I love classico sauce.. it's getting me through college.

Just buy Barilla sauce. Comes with olive oil already in the sauce. Some of their flavors offer extra garlic, etc. Formaggio - is my favorite flavor. Personally, I'd pick up some fresher pasta from the refrigerated section for the most improvement in a plate of spaghetti.

I have ground pork, will that suffice?

fry red chillies garlic and cumin in oil, throw onions in the mix when the oil is flavored, wait till the onions are golden then throw the pasta sauce and pasta onto the pan and remove when heated .

for one bottle of sauce, i like to add one large handful of cut mushrooms, half a small onion, a couple shakes of the pepper/garlic mix i have, a couple fresh tomatoes, and a decent amount of frozen meatballs. i like to let it simmer for half hour at least and it'll taste create.

i like to flash fry the mushrooms and onion before i put it in the pot

brown the meat first.... (BROWN... not grey...)
drain off fat

add crushed/super-minced garlic (about 2 cloves)
optional: add diced onion

I like to add a dash or 2 of ceyanne (sp?) pepper... but not too much -- a little goes a long way (1/4 tsp'ish)

turn down the heat and add the sauce to this same pan and let it simmer for about an hour

Cook up the noodles, drain, then add the noodles to the pan with the sauce

Cut some thick slices of french bread and pan-fry it a buttered pan... with parmasan and basil, if ya got it

ADD:

1/2-1 pound ground beef browned with 2 sliced mushrooms, 1 onion, and 1 small green pepper. Add salt and pepper to the beef, mix with the sauce, cook for 20 minutes.

It will taste great 🙂 My family wants to eat the sauce by itself after dinner!

Prego usually has enough garlic. You can add it to taste.

fry some onions, fry some garlic, pour the pasta in the frying pan and simmer for a while. Add a bit of sugar, a bit of salt, some oregano, maybe some cumen.
