This has caused a problem for me as well. I have mini-team members who have 56K ISP accounts. I have them all setup using SetiDriver. If you check the AUTO TRANSMIT option and they have their browser setup to automatically connect when they open a web link.............their computer logs on or at least attempts to logon depending if their password is auto-enabled or not.
Some people with 56K connections don't want their computer logging on automatically because they only have one telephone line. Yet these same folks don't want to have to mess with SETI. They don't remember to hit the TRANSMIT button when they see the YELLOW icon.
What's needed is what
ElFenix has started this thread about....some way for the CLI or SetiDriver or whatever to start transmitting whenever it senses an internet connection, yet not start an internet connection on its own.
Monitoring thread.
