how to make icon colors transparent

using windows xp pro. how to make teh icon color transparent when i click on them?

He probably means disabling the blue 'selection' cast when clicking on an icon... It's under "selected items" in appearance (desktop control panel) but there's no transparent. You'll just have to set it to whatever blends well with your background.

If you use Microangelo, the "On Display" menu for Desktop has a very simple checkbox for "Transparent" icon titles.

I have used Microangelo for over 5 years - and it gets better all the time. I couldn't do without it.
