how to make Firebird use TTF in linux

I'm using FireBird in Mandrake Linux. I've had trouble with fonts on some web pages. Some Fonts look broken, if I "highlight" the text, it then appears as it should.
So, I went on a mission to get the True Type Fonts from my windows partition working. I have them installed properly. I'm proud of myself getting TTF working 🙂 but I'd like them working for Firebird too.
I can choose them with Mozilla browser that came with Mandrake. But in Firebird the Fonts I want to choose from are not there.
I deleted version 0.6 and went and got 0.7, still the TTF can't be chosen. (example, Times New Roman for Serif) it's in list for Mozilla but not Firebird.

any help would be great

By the way, using the "Import Windows Fonts" under Control Center said it worked, but it didn't. I got it done the console way 😉

thx, having a look now, but the "search" function a little whacky. Searched "true type fonts windows" got 227 pages of hits, not one topic has what I'm looking for 🙁
