How to make black pepper sauce for steak?

Pepper, salt, vinegar, merlot, and sugar works for me. I don't measure when I cook. Just don't flood the pepper too badly.

my mother uses soy sauce, TONS of black pepper, and a little bit of sugar (i think? don't really remember)...sometimes she adds garlic.

soooooooooooooooooooooo good.
