BF3 used to always open in Chrome, but since I installed my new motherboard and cpu, and re-installed Windows 8, Now BF3 opens in IE, even if I already have Chrome open, and Chrome is my default browser, or at least I think it is, how can I check?

In Chrome, click on the Options button in the top-right, and then click on Settings. There should be an option near the bottom to set Chrome as your default browser.

I just upgraded to Windows 8 literally yesterday and BF3 still opens up in Chrome just fine. Just make sure it's set to default.

It's set to default, but BF3 still opens in IE.

Like I said, it used to open in Chrome just fine.

How do you get your computer specs to show at the bottom of your post?

I clicked user cp. There is no "edit signature".

There is edit details, edit profile picture, edit avatar, edit email/password, edit options, edit ignore list, edit folders, NO edit signature.

Just bookmark battlelog and open BF3 from the browser instead of the other way around. When you join a game, battlelog will open BF3.

Go to Edit Options, scroll down to Thread Display Options, check Show Signatures, scroll down to bottom, and click Save Changes. Now see if Edit Signature works.

Show signatures was already checked, so that didn't work. I appreciate your help, but if it's this difficult to display your computer specs on your post I'll just live without it. Seems pretty ridiculous to me. Most forums you just go to signature and write your specs and hit save. I don't get it.

Now I see why hardly anyone does it. Only a few can figure it out. lol

Thanks Man, that worked. Still don't get why clicking the BF3 icon opens IE though.

Open Chrome -> options button (to the right of the omni bar) -> settings -> "make chrome my default browser"

BF3's always opened in Firefox for me, Firefox is my default browser.

You mean this part?

I see that someone got the answer before I did, but you're welcome all the same. :)

No, you apparently missed the part where someone else already said the same thing and I answered him by saying it was already set to default, but thanks for telling me I should check again.

It literally takes 2 seconds to read through this thread to, but you failed to do so apparently or you would see that I already said there is no "edit signature" in the choices.

You also missed the part where you can just hit "edit" and not make two posts? Is that not there for you either?

EDIT: You also might want to go into IE, and make sure its not your default browser, and also deselect "check everytime" or whatever it does when it sees it isnt the default. You could be setting chrome as the default, and then having IE steal it away shortly after. If your are on windows 7 or 8 (and i think vista), you can go into Control Panel\Programs\Default Programs and then just set chrome to be the default for everything. That should solve your problem.

For the record, forum issues and technical questions don't belong here.

If you are having trouble with a part of the forum, go here http://forums.anandtech.com/forumdisplay.php?f=17

For the record, this is a Battlefield 3 question, which is why I posted in the PC GAMING FORUM.

This has got to be the dumbest group of forum trollers I've seen to date on any technical computer site.

Just wow.

Please ban me so I don't have to put up with the stupidity here anymore. Not one person has been able to provide a intelligent answer. Moving on.

Dude...you started asking why you can't see your sig line and change it. That is a technical forum question with nothing to do with PC gaming whatsoever.

That's not trolling, it's explaining how these forums are supposed to work for newer members. If you call that trolling you should just get off the internet immediately and never look back.

The following is not related to Bf3 or any games at all. And I was saying that if you still have this problem you need to post to the other section. All you want to do is post insults directed at members who have been here a long time and have contributed to many discussions. You've been a member since 2009 but sure don't act like it. Even after you got an answer you insult them...that's just rude. No other way to describe it.

How do you get your computer specs to show at the bottom of your post?
