How to make a PDF Searchable without Acrobat

So anyone know of any free or alternative programs to actual Acrobat that can take a PDF and OCR it so it becomes searchable?

Within Acrobat it's really easy but a new Acrobat license is expensive so we're looking for alternative that can do the same thing but I haven't been able to find anything so far.

Foxit has a free trial of the Phantom Business software that should be able to search, edit, and much more to PDF and OCR:

There are also several free converters from PDF to Word. Convert to Word and edit, search, etc. as much as you like.
