How to make a network activity LED so that you can put in front of your case ??

Well I know some server have this LED light, NAS device also has a network activity LED. I was thinking if there is a way to connect a LED somewhere in my motherboard (for build-in NIC) or somewhere on the nic it self so that I can have a network activity LED on my case! have anybody successfuly did this ??

If a LED exists on the NIC then you can connect another LED to the prongs on that LED. I did this to make a LED available on the top of my monitor
