How to make a HP USB printer/copier/scanner work with a DOS program?

Hi all,

I'm using a brand new HP PSC2175 printer that is USB and has
the copier/scanner deal on it.

We're using a DOS based accounting program that works with
my computer with XP Professional on it but within the program
I can't print anything out since I changed from my parallel printer
to this USB one.

Any ideas? I've got my USB printer set up as the default printer.

How do you do this and where please?

Edit to say the printer works fine with Windows programs but
just doesn't seem to be able to use the USB printer with the
Dos based program.
