There are alot of threads on this topic but here are some basics.

You can use the hub if you want. But you need to get a second NIC for your primary computer. You would then need to setup ICS (internet connection sharing) within Win98/WinME/Win2K. Not sure which OS you have. Your primary compuer needs to be on however in order for the other computer(s) to access the internet.

The other option you can go with which can save you some time is to use a Cable router with an internal 4 port switch. This way, the router acts as the connection to the internet. Your PCs then can be assigned their own IPs (branched from the router ie: Router - 10.1.1.1, PCs start from 10.1.1.2 up to 10.1.1.255). This is also a more secure way to set it up because the router is your firewall.

Now the cost is the main issue with most people. I prefer to use ICS because it only required buying a 2nd NIC and switch. Since you already have a HUB, you may want to go this route because you only have to spend another $15. And setup is simple. There are sites that can help you on this subject. Practically Networked has information on ICS. Just look through their menus. I'll try to look this up and repost the URL.

If you need help, feel free to PM me or email me.
