how to limit bandwidth for 21 computers?

I live at a frat house and we have 21 computers hooked up to a DSL connection. We need to limit the bandwidth of each computer so the connection doesn't get too slow. We also need to monitor how much bandwidth (for example, in one day) is going to each computer. Is there any good software to do this?
 
Basically you're saying that you need a bigger pipe and some sort of QoS for all the P2P and large file downloads. 😛

As for the bandwidth monitoring I don't know of anything. Sorry.
 
smoothwall can do all of this. Just install 2.0 express and the QOS Mod and BANDVIEW Mod and your set 🙂
 
Or buy a Linksys wireless router RTG54GS and download the firmware from Svetsoft (or something like that, sorry for the spelling, you can do a search here in the forum), with this firmware you will be able to manage the bandwith.

a WRT54G would suit them just fine - being that they don't even need wireless functionality - and 108mbps is horrible anyways.

Or they could just get a cheap computer (if they felt like going overboard - get a 400SC next time it goes to about $300) and install Linux on it.
