How to know what version of Direct X is installed

How do I find out what version of DX is installed in my system...?

I was on 7.0a, and installed power DVD and I think it automatically updated me...
Now I have sound problems... ERRRRRRRRRR

Search for DXDIAG in your files.

It says I have DX 7.1

I downloaded the driver update for WinME for my SBlaster Live, and it fixed my problem...

Curious though, when I go to the windows update page, I do not have an option for getting DX 8.0a...

I want to have 7.0a - mine says 7.0 (4.07.00.0716). Is that 7.0a?
I didn't know there was a 7.1.
