how to know number of cores on CPU in BIOS

I am under procedure to buy a Quad Core AMD cpu.
As a general query

Is it possible to get the exact number of cores
on CPU just by reading the BIOS settings.


We get all the info once inside OS but just reading the BIOS can i know about
single/dual/ quad etc. cores of the cpu.

let it be intel / amd cpu no matter which one.
does any MOBO/ bios company gives this feature

Go to CPU Configuration in BIOS. At least that is how it is with my board. The place where you change C1E and SpeedStep etc. It will say your cores along with Mhz.

Also when you boot up get rid of splash screen or press tab and you will see on top right when you turn on comp it says how many cores. gl

You want to know how many cores a motherboard will allow ? Todays hardware allows for up to 6 cores Sandy E Ivy E 12 threads. As long as it says Sandy on the mobo box or Ivy .. then you can have up to 6 cores 12 threads. thank you gl
