Hi im just wondering how to know if my mobo is utilizing and supports the SSE instructions of the CPU my CPU is a Pentium 3 Katmai processor, the mobo is a Tomato ZX98-AT,ATX motherboard, Slot 1 with AGP slot, currently I have an upgraded BIOS, and some benchmark states that the processor supports SSE.

Hi!

Maybe I'm wrong but I think that the CPU instruction set do not depend on MOBO. It depends entirely on the CPU...

Cheers,

TRUE, cookieman. Battousai1, you should try to grab a little soft named cpu-z. It displays all you need to know on your cpu. Could someone link?

The BIOS would need to correctly identify the processor in order to take advantage of it's SSE extensions, if the benchmarks are correctly detecting SSE capabilities then you can be assured that software is using it when possible.

Hi I already had those benchmark (WCPUID, CPU-Z, SYSID, etc.) they all states that the processor is SSE ready, so this means that the mobo is really utilizing the SSE instructions?
