How to keep VLC's christmas icon forever?

That little christmas hat appears on the VLC logo in the player during christmas. How to keep it forever? I think its related to computer's time. How to stop VLC from reading time from computer?

It would actually be pretty easy, and should only require basic learning. Since VLC is libre software, he could get the source code and recompile it to always display the santa cone. Either by changing the assets, or changing the date trigger so it always displays.

Of course he'd have to compile new versions of VLC forever after if he wanted to keep the cone. I also think it's a dumb idea. It's novel and fun when it pops up during Xmas, and would just become boring routine if it were displayed all the time.
