I have a logitech 5.1 speaker setup that has worked well for about 10 yrs but for some reason, in the past week, I've had two instances of popping. Both times it was a single pop and then did not happen again. There was a period of about 3-4 days between pops. I'm not sure how I would troubleshoot this because I don't know how to reproduce the problem.
The only thing I could think about doing would be to buy a discrete soundcard (speakers are used on PC) to see if the problem is with my motherboards onboard sound, but it may be weeks before I hear another pop, if at all. The speakers are plugged in the back of the MB via 3 stereo jacks. The motherboard is pretty new: Asus p8z77 v lk. Is there a way to reproduce popping in speakers?
