how to integrate PS3 with pc hardware

so, i'm looking to buy a PS3 but don't own a tv, seems like i should be able to utilize my 24" BenQ (which has hdmi input).

But how do i get audio from the PS3?

should i buy some sort of receiver, that can output to my 2.1 pc speakers? (i know nothing about a/v receivers, but i assume such a thing exists)

if so, i assume such a receiver would be able to switch between input from the pc and the ps3?

If all you have is 2.1 speakers, then just use the white and red RCA output from the PS3.

I assume they are PC speakers. You can get a RCA to PC Speaker converter wire. They are like 2$.

more noobness:

is there some sort of device i could buy that would allow me to plug in multiple inputs and multiple outputs and then switch between them?

like, i would input from my pc and from the ps3 (possibly via RCA to 3.5mm adapter) and output to pc speakers and headphones?
