How to install XP with existing Linux

The gist of it is..

1. make new partition on hard drive for XP.
2. install XP to new partition.
3. Now XP will have overwritten Linux's bootloader, so you will have to install GRUB again.

I'll look for a guide.

Thank you very much, GRUB, what is that?

And what kind of software is available for make new partition for XP,

the HDD size should be 250G according to the spec, however now in Linux, I can see two partition: 1st, 140G 2nd,about 100M,

I think I need to reduce the size of the 1st partition,as you know most time I will use XP.

I know several years ago the partition magic(boot from CD) can do this job, now the HDD is of SATA type, I'm not sure if partition magic can recognize it, and I don't have this kind of software on hand.

I wouldn't go with Partition Magic these days anyway, it's pretty old. Download a gparted live CD. But make sure you have instructions for reinstalling GRUB handy before you start because XP will undoubtly rewrite your MBR.
