How to install Windows XP with SP2 and all the drivers

Yep....been there done that. Made three slipstreamed SP2 CD's...one for my P4 system with the latest Intel .inf's, one for my NF7-S system with the SATA and latest Nforce drivers, and one for my HT setup with the Nforce drivers and Leadtek TV card drivers. Works like a charm...

You can really add any drivers you want. Just make new folders in the \$OEM$\$1\Drivers directory and reference them on the OEMPnPDriversPath line in the WinNT.sif file.

Don't waste time doing this yourself. Get XPCreate and let it slipstream hotfixes as well. Pretty simple program when compared to the full manual slipstream process.

First, the actual slipstream process takes no more than a minute or two. Second, if you slipstream SP2, you integrate DX 9.0C and there are no critical updates after a fresh install.

But does the slipstream also take care of making an iso file for you? No.

I did make an XP slipstream CD when SP1 came out. It worked decently, but was quickly out of date with the hotfixes released after it came out. SP2 will be the same way. In one month, it will have hotfixes, some that may be needed to prevent a virus from getting in with no intervention.

Thats what I like about XPCreate, even with no post SP2 hotfixes. I download it, put in an XP cd, get it started, and when it finishes, have an ISO ready to burn, instead of then trying to create a bootable CD. Sure it may not be all that difficult, but why bother with additional hassle?

The slipstream process that was linked above finishes with using Nero to make a bootable CD. You can use the same process to make an .iso instead of a bootable CD. It's not even a extra step.
 
i followed all of the steps and double checked the settings and some of my drivers will not install I know they are all there as i can use the cd to finish the install.
the devices that dont install are
smbus
the multimedia controller
my wireless nic.
also the cd key didnt take any ideas?
 
Man thats alot of copy/editing. I think ill stick with slipstreamer. (I rarely need to clean install anways (knock on wood)).🙂
