How to install Win98??

Hello,
I have to reinstall Win98 with the XP home upgrade. My system won't boot from the WIN98 CD and the HD has been re-formated. I do not have a floppy drive.
ANy ideas?

Thanks

Can't you do a full install from the XP upgrade disk and simply insert your win98 disk when prompted? In other words, boot with your XP upgrade CD, format the C drive, do a fresh install (not an upgrade - you should be able to do this) and put in the Win98 CD when the install asks to confirm your upgradability.

THanks for the tip.
I used the Upgrade CD, it installed and never asked about the Win98/ME..
Activated and everything.

Just for general reference, there is a web site named "Boot Disk" where you can obtain files to create floppy boot disks such as the one for Windows 98. (It's only been six years, but most folks forget things too fast; only a small percentage, which I estimate as about 10% of the total, of the W98 CD's were bootable.)

😎

Said site would be www.bootdisk.com 😉
