Cause it just doesn't work...

I'm booting from a win98se boot disk and then from the win2k cd I start the installation program, but the installation wants a FAT/FAT32 drive to move the temorary files to???? why... that just sucks!!!

Any ideas?? Maybe some parameters to add before starting the installation program... or using som other boot method???

help 🙂

Boot using the Win2k CD. Windows 98 disk booting is going to look for a FAT partition because it's looking to install Windows 98, which needs a FAT partition. Just boot from the Win2k CD, that's the easiest solution.

I'm not sure that works either...

Has anyone tried to boot from the cd with only one NTFS drive in your system?

BTW how do you know the cd-booting works I got a msg saying it basicly didn't work but that could have been from the bios instead of the cd?

If your system cannot boot from CD for whatever reason, you can create the 4 floppy disks required for starting 2K installation from the CD (/makeboot) or download them from bootdisk.com

Thanks guys/girls I´think I'll fix it now... either with disks or getting my cd to boot properly.

however what if you want to whipe the disk from the previous win2k... and you still only have one drive... those 4 disks do they provide the facility to delete folders on ntfs disks?
