How to install RAID 1?

I am installing RAID for the first time. I was under the impression that I could just enable RAID in the BIOS and then install windows 7. However, when I look in the BIOS, there is only an option to change between RAID and IDE under "On Chip ATA Devices". I don't see any other option to designate RAID 1 for 2 of the drives in my setup.

I also see on the MSI website, that there are drivers available but I need to use a floppy drive. Am I really going to have to use a floppy drive? I can't remember if I still even have one.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. The MSI manual is horrible with respect to information.

My set up is:

MSI 785GT-E63
AMD X2 555 BE
2x 120GB HDs

Edit: Okay, I figured it out. When I enabled RAID and rebooted there was a utility that basically looked like this:
http://livesupport.asus.com/amdraidhowto.html

I also figured out that you have to hit the space bar to select. I just left all the default options and chose RAID 1.

So next question: Windows 7 gets to a point during the installation where it asks what drive to install to. It only shows Disk 0. It does not show 2 disks. Is that because of the RAID functionality? There was also an option on the same screen to install a driver. I did not. Was I supposed to?

How will I know if windows 7 installs correctly in RAID 1?

to windows it will look like one drive, however to the RAID controller it sees both and is reading from and writing to both.

you can verify that you have a true image by yanking one drive and setting computer to being a single disk system. then simply re-add the disk and rebuild your array.
