How to install games over network?

Is it possible to share a CD-Rom over the network and install a game?
cause when i try to install SC or HL it says i'm missing a path or something.
 
Share the Cdrom on the computer where its located, and then map that drive on the computer you want to install.

Sometimes network installs will not work.
 
hmm, it installed SC ok, but it won't lemme run the game with the CD in a mapped drive....any suggestions?
i'm tryin to play SC over the network ehre.
