I just can't figure out how to install a fan in the middle front of my p180b. I've been trying for over two hour before giving up. Perhaps I'm not doing it right so could anyone give me some pointers?

Anyways I just removed the HD bay and then tried putting the fan in there. It's kind of hard since there is a black piece of plastic blocking me from seeing the fan's side. I've then tried to hold the fan still while I screw it in from the front, but it is really hard to see the holes and keep the fan in position while it's being screwed. I'm also not sure my screws are even long enough though I can feel them poking out when I touch them without the fan.
I've tried a number of things to keep the fan in position while putting the screws in including using toothpicks to align the holes as well as string. It didn't work and I just can't think of anything that would. The black piece of plastic is really annoying so I have a feeling it may have something to do with my problems. Can someone with experience tell me what it's for and how to install this optional fan?

If I understand correctly your description, the black piece of plastic that's blocking your installation is actually the 120mm fan mounting bracket.

http://www.antec.com/pdf/drawi...1.1_Manual_DRAWING.pdf

We're talking about part 24 on page 2. It is removable, in fact you're supposed to remove it, install the fan into the bracket and then put the bracket back into place. Open the front top grill by pushing the latch just left of the reset switch. The upper door will swing open and you can access the top air filter. Remove the filter by pushing down on the top two plastic tabs on the top at the same time and pulling it up and towards you. That will expose the tabs for the 120mm fan mounting bracket and you can remove it. Install your fan of choice, replace the bracket and the filter and you're done.

thanks a lot. I thought it was wierd they would have something blocking the slot. I read through the manual, but I just couldn't find any info on how to install it. Now I can have 2 optional fans cooling my vid card.

Should be on the drive bay itself, closest to the vid card, if that's the one he's talking about.
