How to install drivers on laptop?

OK here is the deal I bought a toughbook on sale for my company. It didn't have a CD or floppy with it. One of our maint programs is on DVD's so I bought DVD player with pcmcia adapter. Well the drivers are on floppy. So I am thinking I will plug in usb network adapter and transfer from my computer. Well windows 98 doesn't have native drivers for it and it's drivers are on cd.

I don't have a usb floppy and don't want to buy one. Am I down to buying a serial transfer cable and going that route? what do I use to transfer the files software wise?

Thanks

you could get an ide adapter for the hdd and put it into your desktop then copy the driver folder over to the laptop hard drive and put it back in the lappy, then when it asks for the driver location point it to this directory, or if the laptop has a modem, you could dl from the mfr website?

Yes it has a modem the problem is that I don't have a dial up account. I am on cable.

I hate to take the drive out. I haven't had it apart but I know the toughbook has a shock mounted harddrive supposed to withstand accidental drops. I would hate to mess something up.

Thanks

Looks like you are down to a networking question. Post this in the networking forum and I bet they can tell you how to transfer using serial interface. Personally I would buy the floppy drive or CDROM if you plan to keep this lappy.
