How to install a psu? Fan side up or down?

i bought a 500w psu. there's a fan on the back, and a fan on the top (or bottom, depending on how u lokk at it).

do i install the psu w/the fan on top or on the bottom?

Unless you have a hole in your case or this is some sort of special psu: Bottom. This way one fan sucks air into the psu, while the other spits it out. Or that's how it's supposed to work anyway on most dual fan psus.

The holes in the PSU should only correspond only one way with the holes on the case. Installing it upside down would result in only 3 screws being able to go through, instead of all 4.

The second fan faces down, right over the CPU. It's designed to vent hot air from the case and works quite well.
