Hi:
I know a convertor can help to install the 3.5 hard drive in the 5.25 bay. Does anybody know what its name is and where it could be bought?

Thanks.

Usually the adaptor for the 5.25 drive bay is included with the HDD. In fact I have never seen a HDD without the 5.25 adaptor included. Is this an OEM drive then? Just go into a local computer store (NOT Best Buy or Circuit City type stores) and ask for a 5.25 drive bay mounting kit for a 3.5 HDD, they will know what you mean. I can't imagine it would cost enough to make mail ordering it worthwhile.

those are probably called drive brackets, similar to those you use to fit 3.5" hdd into 5.25" bays. onvia.com and buy.com has them. just do a search for brackets.

Yes, I think my new IBM 307020 is an OEM.
I searched the seller from pricewatch.
How can I know it is an OEM or not from the website?
Because it is not like CPU, you cannot see the "Retail Box" in the description.

Thanks.

You can get drive brackets pretty cheap - I got a bunch at less than $2 a pair - try www.cyberguys.com - useful to have them around, along with the odd cables, screws and jumpers that you occasionally find yourself searching for.
