I just recieved my case (lian li v1200 plus) but it didnt come with a manual or anything. I'm not sure how to put this drive into the rack, do I need a special attachment? The drive i bought was a bare drive.

the case should have several bays to mount 3.5" drives (like your harddrives) it just takes 4x screws

sata cable = data transfer
power cable = powers it up

so you have to have both.

i think what he means is does it matter if he uses a regular molex connector or the sata power connector. its better to just stick with the sata connector. but, if you use the regular connector, it wont really hurt the drive. otherwise it wouldnt be possible to put in in there.

Hi, The extra connector is there for use with older power supplies that do not have the sata connector. If you have it, it makes no difference which one you use. I wouln't use both at the same time although that probably wouldn't hurt anything as they come from the same source. Hope this helps a bit, Jim

As said before, if your drive has both the regular molex and SATA power connectors, only plug one of them in. Plugging in both can blow your drive. It won't matter which one you plug in, I would just plug in whatever power connectors you got hanging nearby to reduce clutter.
