How to increase my wireless signal?

We have free acces about 100ft from our living room and using a wireless laptop so no Cantennae action is gonna work!

I have installed a bargain basement 4-port wireless router at the source within a 10'X15' room and can get a decent enough signal 30-50ft away. This is outdoors. So I'm hoping to get the signal to go from inside>outside>and back inside again.

Need to extend my signal and have noted way too many 4db - 8db directional/omni directional antennas out there to choose from.

Considering a external antennae but cost is a factor as they are $79.99. Cheapo 4db antennae are $20- $30 and higher gain 8dbi are in the $60 range.

Anyone extend there network over a distance. Best products to use?

For reference I was using Outpost and http://www.wirelessnetworkprod...WCATS&Category=257 for price references but can;t find any how-to's or results from the web. The site listed says there $100 antennas transmit signals from building to building for offices!

I just bought the Flatenna and I am super pleased with the results! In areas of my house where I could not get a reliable signal (some times not enough to even connect) I get a consistent full 54Mbps connection. I'm using a Netgear WGR614v1. Great product and the best $20 I have ever spent on any networking stuff:
