I know it's a 2-3 years old speaker system, but I'm hoping someone would share ideas how to improve upon it.
Improving by means of adding a center channel

Any hacks to mod Z560 to Z680? (separate inputs for center & sub)

you think it'll make a difference? I've heard a few things that say that 5.1 vs 4.1 is almost identical.

A center channel actually does improve your sound. The difference between 4.1 and 5.1 is noticible if you're watching movies and using positional audio for stuff like games. The difference between 5.1 and 7.1 is a different issue however.

OP: sorry, but i have no idea how you could "mod" those speakers to 5.1

get better speakers?

klipsch ultras or creative gigaworks come into mind.

i can't see how you'd be able to mod it, as you'd need a new amp to specifically drive all the sattelites, and the sub, and rework the xover freqs

it would be easier, less time consuming and probably cheaper to buy a new set of speakers.

^ indeed. I also have the 560's and the still manage to satisfy. There is no Mod i believe that'll do that as logitech did not expect/account for you 'expanding' the system

If that center channel is worth what it costs to upgrade to you, then go for it. I just don't have a need for it (yet....)
