How to improve one's overall intelligence?

Learn how to play chess (decently), read up on articles on wikipedia and howstuff works, learn how to play an instrument, play video games, read up on interesting topics that you have always wanted to know more about but were scared off by technical terms, buy smart pills if it makes you feel any better about having a mundane mind, and, well, be me. 😉

You cannot. Intelligence is an inherent quality.

However, there are many things that one can do to refine the intelligence that one has. Reading instead of watching television is a big thing. Also important to challenge yourself mentally through games like chess or other strategy games.

Reading can exercise your brain. Pick challenging books.

Teach yourself a new skill that stretchs your mind.

Engage in philisophical discussions concerning the nature of the universe with highschool freshmen sci-fi nerds. Try it, really.

Think smarter, not harder!

There's no way. Reading instead of watching TV though will at least go a long way toward preventing making those embarassing grammatical and spelling errors. There's no way anyone older than 10 should be unfamiliar with the differences between to, too and two, their there and they're, youre and you're, etc. And don't even get me started on u, ur, plz, ne1, etc.
