Upgraded 20+ computers to Windows 10. The update went very well. For most of them, we upgraded on top of Win 7 so the activation went fine, then have the option of doing a clean install again.
There is quite a bit of customization that need to be done after that. Add certain printers. Add shared drives. Restrict usage for non admins. Install software. Move the user directories to a new partition, etc.
In the past with Windows 7, I'd be able to install 7 from the Dell media and then use Acronis True Image to image the one that had all the adjustments and restore it on all the others. Change the network name of the computer and all would work fine. Windows 10 doesn't seem to like it.
Any thoughts? They are all upgraded and licensed. Would it be a matter of extracting the custom win 10 key from each machine, clone it, then when it says unactivated, try that key that belonged to that machine?
Thanks for any guidance. Sean
