I'm not sure whether I have KT133 or KT133a chipset.

Well, this board Aopen AK73-1394 is supposed to have KT133, but the there is this PCB printed words that says AK73 -Pro(A) which is based on KT133A chipset. So, this could be just AK73-Pro(A) based board disguised as Ak73-1394.. Anyways..
There is a heatsink on the northbridge itself, and I don't want to take it out...

I tried to run my Duron 850 at 133FSB (Kt133A supports it) first at normal speed.. like..850ish.., but it didn't post.. :( so I tried lower multipliers.. even at 5, (133 x 5) didn't post. The multiplier lock has been unlocked and I tested it myself. so it's not that.

It could well be KT133 BUT, there could be another reason for that.. I think.. maybe my duron just can't run at that speed.

anyways, i run Windows98 (OE) and when I go to device manager, nothing really tells me what chipset I have..
Is there some kind of small and simple program (nothing as big as sissoft sandra) to help me out.. or should I take out the heatsink :(

get wincpuid from H-Oda when you run it one of the small icons to the right of the floppy icon will have a chipset info. Not as bloated as Sandra and no install either.

EDIT: not wincpuid (spelled it wrong) it's WCPUID
