Lets say I watched a clip on youtube with a nice background music and I really want to find out the name of the track (no one replied in the comment), what methods can I use to find out the track name? I can potentially download the video clip, extract portions of the sountrack with the least amount of other audio such as voice and background noise. Is a website I can upload that snippet to and have it ID the track name?

Isn't there phone apps that'll ID a song if you play it? Might be harder for it to ID if you're editing out other things just to hear the song as the quality might not be so great.

If you can make out the lyrics,if any, search for those.

Pretty old school, and I've never used it, but it might work.

It will work.

Shazam can identify music, movies, advertising, and television shows, based on a short sample played and using the microphone on the device. The software is available for Android, macOS, iOS, and watchOS. Shazam Entertainment Limited was founded in 1999 by Chris Barton, Philip Inghelbrecht, Avery Wang, and Dhiraj Mukherjee. On 24 September 2018, the company was acquired by Apple for a reported $400 million.

Download the clip and extract the soundtrack as you said. Make a video using the track and upload it to YouTube. Wait. A lawyer will tell you the song name and artist.

Basically this lol. I don't know how many times I've taken a track directly from Youtube as I figure if the video has been there since like 2005 chances are I'll be ok, only to get copystriked within a day of upload.
