how to identify memory chips?

I purchased 256M of DDR ram that was suppose to be Micron. The "void warranty if removed label" does have a large "M" on it. I cannot make any sense of the info printed on the chips themselves. Could someone please point me in the right direction to ID the memory. I know that most chip mfg sale chips to module vendors. The memory does work, I just want to make sure I got what I paid for!!!

Generally, if there's a "mT" in the module serial number, it's a Micron make. You didn't post the number so I can't tell you for sure. There's several places online where you can verify this yourself, but you still need to know the numbers. There's a lot software out there that will do a dump of the SPD and give you your specs, but these can be unreliable because it's dependent on what the manufacturer actually encoded in the SPD for identification purposes. real Micron module has MT sticker,
Crucial module has additional CT sticker.
