I had somehow never even ehard of this procedure till recently. I am now in need of this I believe but want to make sure I have the idea down right. I would really hate to hose them both. you just fire up the computer you want to flash you bios chip in, pull out the BIOS chip, insert the one I want to flash the bios to, then flash??? Call me crazy but that just sounds like it woudl hose the other system.

You've got the jist of it. It won't hose the system if you do it right. Make sure you align the BIOS chip into the socket correctly, etc.

I've tried this one a long time ago back in the P3 era. Didn't work tho. Didn't fry my system either 🙂

Clear out as many obstructions, like extra drives or expansion cards too, as you can - or even just get both motherboards out of the cases. This will give you plenty or room to work - trying to put your hands into the case in awkward ways can cause you to short something out, especially if you use a conductive screwdriver. Might not be the best thing to use, but it was all I had handy when I needed to hot flash an nForce2 board I had - don't remember if it was an 8RDA+ or an NF7-S. Either way, it worked fine, and everything's working.
