how to hookup dayton sub to a sony str-dh500?

basically i've inherited 5 speakers (4 front & back, 1 center). i've purchased a Sony STR-DH500 receiver with my sony points.

now, i'm eyeing starter subwoofer. and i'm thinking of getting a Dayton Sub-80.

looking at the pictures and the STR-DH500 reciver, and subwoofer what kind of cable do i need to get?

the str-dh500 have one output audio out, while the pictures of subwoofer sub-80 is showing many different connections?

also, do i need to buy a powe cable for this sub?

The subwoofer pre-out on the Sony gets connected to the Left RCA input on the Dayton sub.

Use a regular RCA cable to connect them. If you have a spare yellow video RCA cable (composite video), that will work.

The sub will have a power cord already.

thanks, just to reiterate, the picture of the subwoofer is showing a two prong RCA for input (R & L), while the Sony receiver is only a one prong.

i do have spare yellow video RCA cables, you're sure that i do not need a rca type of cable with two prongs on the other end?

Yeah, just hook up to one of the inputs on it. It doesn't matter which one (I just said Left above since it doesn't matter).

thanks, fantastic sticked FAQ btw, i don't have to do as much homework.

The formatting really got messed up on it from the transfer from fusetalk to vbulletin 🙁

I have a new one in the works that's broken up / organized better and updated, but I haven't finished it yet.
