How to hook up my 360 to my modem in order to play on live?

So I have the belkin wireless gaming router, I hooked it up to my laptop so I could enter the pass key and play XBL on my secure network. The problem is whenever I do this and then hook the router up to my 360 I can't connect to live. I've also tried running directly off the modem and I get the IP failed when I test the connection, saying that I need to enter the pass key if its a secure network. I don't know how to do this on the xbox itself though.

Any help?

Thanks :)

If you have a straight connection between the modem and Xbox and it's not working, then something is up with your internet provider.

On the 360, go to the system tab, select network settings, select edit settings, and it will provide you with basic and additional settings tabs. To get it on a secure WAP or WEP connection, you should just need to use the third box under the basic settings tab where it has wireless mode listed. choose it and it'll provide the SSID list, choose your's and enter the key, then choose test media and it should be good to go.
