Having your email address appear on the login screen of your PC at all times may seem like a breach of privacy. If you have been wondering about a way to get rid of this username visibility, a process does exist but it is lengthy. Here in this step by step guide, we have provided this process to you in the simplest way possible. Just follow the steps below.
Step 1
Search for the Edit Group Policy Settings Tab
Go to the 'Search bar' situated at the bottom left side of your desktop screen and type in the word ‘Edit group’ to enable the search.

Step 2
Open 'Edit Group' Settings Tab
At the top of the search tab the results will be displayed, click on the one titled ‘Edit group settings’. A new window should now be open.

Step 3
Navigate Through the Group Settings Tab
In the local group policy editor window that is now open, there will be a list of options on the left side of the page. Next to each option will be a small arrow, if you click it, the option will further expand. You have to start at the first option ‘computer configuration’ by expanding and then following this path: windows settings > security settings> local policies. Once you have reached local policies, there will be three options if you expand it. Click on the one titled ‘Security options’.

Step 4
Open the Username Display Settings
Now what you will have in front of you is a long list of setting options. Find the one titled ‘Interactive logon: Display user information when the session is locked’ and double click on it.

Step 5
Disable User Information Display Option
A separate dialog box should have appeared with a drop-down option at the center of it. Click on it and choose the option titled ‘do not display user information’. Once done, click on the 'Okay' button.

Step 6
Open Last Username Display Settings
Now go back to the list of options and open the option titled ‘Interactive logon: Do not display last user name’.

Step 7
Disable Last Username Display Option
In the dialog box that now opens make sure that the ‘Disabled’ option is selected. Click on 'Okay' once done.

If you have followed these steps correctly your login page should no longer display your username or email id anymore.
