How to hard reset an iPod mini?

Turkish

Lifer
I got my iPod mini last wednesday and it has been working great till last night when I went out to take photos at 4:00 AM.

Somehow my iPod mini froze and it's stuck in this one song and no buttons work. Even funnier, it doesn't even play the song, it just shows the song's name and has the back light on...

How can I reset my iPod? I don't care about the mp3s in it...

Any ideas?

Thanks.

if none of the buttons work thats no good; just wait for the batteries to die.

the apple site has loads of info, even if you google resetting ipod you'll see loads of results.

there's also a configuration utility built in you can go to to check the hard drive etc

stand on your right foot with your right index finger firmly pressing down on the forward key while your other index finger is touching your nose... Do this for roughly 10 mins without moving and you should be fine.

read the freaking manual! toggle the hold on then off, then hold down the menu and the select button (the one in the center of the wheel) for a few seconds

ya mine frooze too the same way

Thanks guys but all the stuff you said didn't work. I was thinking of hard reseting some other way....

I googled / checked Apple site / did the stuff in manual no good, that's why I asked here.

Oh well, might send it back if nothign works.

Thanks.

The manual says how to reset. I don't have mine with me, but I know it's in there. It's some 2 button combination that you have to hold for 6 seconds, and it isn't the same as it was on the original iPod. If it isn't in the manual it's in the quick reference card, I know I saw it.

You cant remove the battery of the ipod... wel at least you cant without opening it and risking damaging it/voiding your warranty.

I just checked the apple forums(they are dog slow, lots of people reading them I guess?) and it seems tons of people have been having various crashing/freezing/odd behaviour problems with their ipod minis. Lots of people have had problems with the freezing I would sit it out for a while before buying any of these things.
