How to get Vista to save window settings?

Is there a way to completely remove the tabs that has Stars for songs in vista? Vista saves me removing them for one view only, but anytime I add a music file to that directory or sub directories it restores the star rating tab.

I don't know why this is so hard, seems like something simply to keep saved. For that matter It also won't save custom layouts and resorts back to default settings.

Using Vista Business if that matters.

I agree, those stupid stars annoy the crap out of me. I've tried setting my folder views to all windows numerous times.

Please help!

Folder settings just don't save correctly in Vista, I don't think we can fix it yet. Let's hope for a fix in SP1.

Geez dude. You're posting at 3:30 in the morning then bitching an hour later when nobody has replied. Settle down beavis.

Tell us what exactly it is you are doing to change the view.

Are you trying:
Right click the folder
Properties
Customize tab
Change dropdown to "All items" or "Documents"
Check box to "Also apply this template to all subfolders
Hit OK?

It was not a hour later, it was a day later..07/25/2007 02:35 AM THEN 07/26/2007 03:28 AM

Anyways, yeah I did that, it sets it correctly at first, but when I add new music to directory it restores the star rating. Oh well, I will have all this media on WHS when its released soon.
