I've been reading all week the race between TA and Team DSLR...

I've got at work 4 Pentium III 800 with 256 Mb Ram just sittin' and waiting to have some work done on them...

The problem is that I can't seem to get Seti past the ISA Server Firewall...

Does anyone know how to get past this petit problem?

I'm not familiar with your firewall but if you would please answer a few questions perhaps we can provide a solution.

Can the 4 machines access internet? If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer, under Tools, Option, please let us know what's the settings for connections.

Can you ping orangekid.teamanandtech.com? How about visiting www.orangekid.teamanandtech.com:5001, can you see SETIQ?

Do you have access to the firewall settings?

They all can access the Internet using IE.... the problem is that if u try to connect Mozilla, Netscape Navigator, Opera they don't get past the firewall.

It happens the same with FTP clients, the Firewall has some weird settings that I just can't figure out.

As for Pinging www.orangekid.teamanandtech.com:5001 i'll try that in about an hour so I'll keep u posted on that.

Yep, I have acess to the settings in all the comps. as I installed a Small Business Server 2000 network made up of 10 PCs and it has a ISA Server built in it...

Before August last year I was crunching numbers at Team Vulture Central, but since I upgraded to SBS2K I'ven't got any decent amount of numbers crunched for any team...

I though it was but I've been having this difficulty since August last in configuring any program besides IE to acess the Internet...

I must have shut off more doors than they're necessary...

I've fiddled in the past with the settings for almost every prog. that appears in the firewall configuration utility but still haven't found a solution to this prob.

Talk to your IT dept about opening the proxy to SETI. You should have their permission (in writing) to run the client anyhow.

To configure the TCP port

In the console tree of ISA Management, right-click the applicable array and click Properties.
Where?

Internet Security and Acceleration Server
Servers and Arrays
Name
Select the Incoming Web request tab or the Outgoing Web request tab.
In TCP port, type the port number on which the ISA Server should listen for Web requests.
Notes

To open ISA Management, click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft ISA Server, and then click ISA Management.
By default, Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server listens for outgoing Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) requests on port 8080.
By default, ISA Server does not listen for incoming TCP requests. If you configure the TCP port for incoming Web requests, it is recommended that you set it to port 80.

DUH.

Nope...

didn't work...

I've cheked the settings and in the Incoming Web request the TCP port is set to 80, in the Outgoing Web request the TCP port is set to 8080, changed the setting, restarted the service and the following errors happened:

Event Type: Warning

Then its a general proxy problem, open up a post and/or route the traffic.

Here is an idea. Install SETIQueue locally and set it to connect to the TeAm Proxy which is orangekid.teamanandtech.com:5001, then you will need to open both outgoing and incoming connections to allow orangekid.teamanandtech.com:5001 and <yoursetiq.IP.Address:5001> to communicate. You will be able to upload and download Wu's as well as continue a secure (well mostly) connection.

Thanks Shux,

I can't try this solution today, as we're all a bit busy with a new load of work to be done until friday but I'll try your solution sometime this week.

If all goes well I'll be registring a new user for TA so I can add some WU's to kick Team DSLR to planet Mars.
