How to get rid of smell in my car?

I took out the seats from my car this weekend and cleaned the carpet with water and soap. I used a carpet cleaner to suck all the water out from the carpet and left my car out in the sun to dry. Well, unfortunately the sun wasn't too helpful in drying the carpet this weekend and now my car STINKS! How do I get rid of that odor? I tried spraying Febreeze but that only lasted for 15 minutes until the bad odor took over again. Any ideas on how to get rid of the nasty carpet smell?

Clean the carpet again and let it air dry in a garage with the windows open?

If you took the seats out then can the carpet be pulled up?

Maybe put a heater in it with the windows or better yet sunroof cracked open a li'l so as to turn it into an oven but allow the water vapour to escape.

I had grass grow out of the carpet in my CJ. Never really smelled but then it wasn't exactly air tight.

steam clean it or leave an open container of coffee grounds or crumpled up newspaper to absorb the smell.
