How to get rid of Security Center from XP with SP2 ?
I have Auto Updates turned off and keep getting that crappie shield come up at the bottom next to the clock
How the hell to get rid of it.

it might be to do with your virus scanner (or lack thereof). Tell Security Center that you will monitor the virus scanner. It may also be to do with the Windows Firewall (either turn it on or off, what ever you want). Fixing these should get rid of that shield.

just tell it not to notify you that you have turned off firewall and updates etc. even if you turn it off it will keep on giving this annoying pop up about you having turned everythngi offf... you need to shut that up as well by telling it not to notify you about it...

it should be in the security centre in your control panel... options on the left hand side... there msut be 3 or four of them... click the last one.....

Go to the contol panel, security center, and on the left, click on "change the way security center alerts me", then un-click either or all options!

Get XPLite and completely remove the darn thing. Or, go one step further and get nLite to create a streamlined XP install sans all the unneeded bloat that Microsoft includes. I've stripped my XP install from 500MB to less than 200MB. It's heaven. 😀
