I always get pop up from time to time to ask me to "Connect" to some porn site. If I hit connect there will be a $34.95 charge per the fine print.

How do I stop these popups? I am not even at any pornsite. I was just surfing Yahoo or eBay.

I already deleted all temp files and cookies, but no luck.

Please help me get rid of these popups.

Thank you in advance.

Use a popup killer link

Not sure whether this one is good or free. I once used something quite effective, I forgot the name.

The next time the popup appears, find out the task name that is running it. Then do a file search for that task name. Exterminate it.

Here goes the list of software that will help kill popups (maybe we need to add this to a sticky, FAQ, etc)

1. Use a browser that will allow you to control the popups (Mozilla, IE-based browsers, etc)
2. Use a web "proxy" like Privoxy, or Proxomitron.
3. Purchase numerous web popup killing applications.
4. Stop surfing the internet.

#4 is probably not too doable, but I figure I should list it anyhow.

Along with NIS2K3 I use popup stopper from panicware.com and it's free. I don't even remember that last time I saw a popup. You probably have some sort of malicious script going, that's what I like about NIS it blocks all malicious scripts.
