If you are lucky, you can use a dell or compaq restore cd and itll recognize your mobo, therefore letting you reinstall the system software, and it will del ntfs (i just had to do it), itll format first, back into fat32, and then as soon as you see it installing software, cancel it, (i actually hit esc right on: "0 files copied so far"

and then load any OS as you know how to.

of course, i endedup reinstalling win2k after all that trouble.
hey its ghetto and bootleg procedure, but at least it saved me some cash.
