somehow my sister is getting the prompt to enter a password eveytime she goes on the internet ..she says she never had a password and just started getting this prompt this morning ...she has no password so she is stuck ...what can she do ? oh , this is after she has connected to the internet , not when trying to connect....thanks

In explorer click on tools/internet options/content.
Check if content advisor is enabled or disabled.
If its enabled you will need supervisor password.

that's the problem , it's enabled and asks for a password ....she's , er ..uh ...well over 21 and doesnt need a password , says she never put a password in , but now it asks for it ...anyway to get around this ?

Hmmm...
Go in BIOS, there should be an option to clear all passwords.
Reinstalling Windows will clear all passwords too.

EDIT
To reinstall Windows go to my computer/control panel/add_remove programs.
Click on Windows Setup. You need Windows CD of course.
All data on hard disk will remain intact after reinstall.

thanks guys ...i just got a call from her ..she turned her computer back on after a trip out to lunch ...she says its working great now ...it came and it went ..all by its self ...who knows ...maybe its one of those "sister" kinda things ....thanks to all
